Election Day is not a day for a county council meeting. This sounds bad and smells bad. Council trying to slip things through without public knowledge or input.

Greenville County Council's 13-page Election Night Agenda is a scandalous abuse of discretion and of power. It contains the most consequential item to affect land use and development in Greenville County’s history --- The Unified Development Ordinance -- and is loaded with items taxpayers care about, including 19 matters that will induce more unbridled "growth and development" in Greenville County. Does County Council think the public is so stupid that it will not notice this perverse approach to the public's business? This County Council mocks the organizational chart showing elected officials are accountable to Greenville's Citizens whom the elected officials (supposedly) represent under South Carolina law. We must demand more of our elected officials and remove from office those Elite Officials who do not respect that they are elected to do the Public's Business and serve the Public’s Interests...not their concealed self-interests. Tonight’s weighty agenda is more than twice the length of any election day agenda since 2020. Whoever set that agenda has revealed his arrogance and contempt for his public duty, and ironically, has indelibly put his fingerprints on the indictment that will prosecute him in the court of public opinion…
