Election Day is not a day for a county council meeting. This sounds bad and smells bad. Council trying to slip things through without public knowledge or input.
I appreciate you, Councilman Blount! You really stand apart from the elected officials who disregard the public's interests and violate the public trust. I am not in your district, but I am definitely one of your supporters!!! Thank you for your service.
Thank you very much and I appreciate you as well! Thank you for standing up for what you believe in and doing it in a bold yet informative way! I believe we can fix our broken system, primarily from listening to voices in our community like yours and working to make sure we are the best versions of our selves!
Greenville County Council's 13-page Election Night Agenda is a scandalous abuse of discretion and of power. It contains the most consequential item to affect land use and development in Greenville County’s history --- The Unified Development Ordinance -- and is loaded with items taxpayers care about, including 19 matters that will induce more unbridled "growth and development" in Greenville County. Does County Council think the public is so stupid that it will not notice this perverse approach to the public's business? This County Council mocks the organizational chart showing elected officials are accountable to Greenville's Citizens whom the elected officials (supposedly) represent under South Carolina law. We must demand more of our elected officials and remove from office those Elite Officials who do not respect that they are elected to do the Public's Business and serve the Public’s Interests...not their concealed self-interests. Tonight’s weighty agenda is more than twice the length of any election day agenda since 2020. Whoever set that agenda has revealed his arrogance and contempt for his public duty, and ironically, has indelibly put his fingerprints on the indictment that will prosecute him in the court of public opinion…

Thank you Councillor! I'll be there.
